Abstract

The discussion review is dealing with the regioselectivity of organic reactions yielding mixtures of two (or three) constitutional position isomers. Its aim is to warn the readers of chemistry textbooks or internet didactic texts against an inaccurate or even misleading interpretation of the experimental facts. The data on additions to buta-1,3-diene or enolate equilibria cited from original papers are presented. As a conclusion, exact terms describing the reactions are given.
